This A2 size card features the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

Series 5 - Watercolor Background
This is part 5 of a series of cards created with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.  What I love best about this set is the simplicity of the dandelion stamps and how well they work on patterned DSP and custom backgrounds.  I also love the "Wishing" sentiments in the set and have found lots of other sentiments that also coordinate well with this set, as you will see as we go thru this series.

For this card I used Shimmery White Paper for the top mat, but I use a piece that is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" and trim to my standard size of 5" x 3-3/4" once the piece is dry.  I began by applying a light layer of water to the top of the piece with my Aqua Painter.  Then I used Tranquil Tide and Wisteria Wonder Inks for the color.  I squeeze the ink pads to get color into the lid of the ink case, then use the Aqua Painter to add some water and just swipe the color across the mat. For this card I swiped diagonally from the center moving toward the corner, which results in darker shades in the center, light shades in the corners.  Let the piece dry thoroughly before stamping.

The dandelions and sentiment from the Dandelion Wishes  Stamp Set were both stamped using Blackberry Bliss Ink.

I also stamped one of the tiny butterflies from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set on Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.  I glued the butterfly onto the top mat with Tombow Glue.  For butterflies I always gently fold the butterfly along both sides of the body and only apply the glue to that section, so the wings are not glued flat to the mat.

I mounted the top mat to a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock cut to my standard bottom mat size of 5-1/4" x 4" using Tape Runner.  And then both pieces were mounted onto a White Card Base with Tape Runner.

I love the way that the shimmer of the paper still shows thru the watercolor ink wash.
