These A2 size cards feature the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!
Series 2 - Sponged Backgrounds
This is part 2 of a series of cards created with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set. What I love best about this set is the simplicity of the dandelion stamps and how well they work on patterned DSP and custom backgrounds. I also love the "Wishing" sentiments in the set and have found lots of other sentiments that also coordinate well with this set, as you will see as we go thru this series.
For this first, really simple card, I stamped the dandelions and sentiment on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock for the top mat using Blackberry Bliss Ink. This sentiment is from the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set.
Then I used a Sponge Dauber to apply Balmy Blue ink around the stamping. I did not want the ink to fill the empty space completely so I left "white" areas so it looks like clouds.
The top mat was applied to a standard size bottom mat of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, and then both pieces to a White Card Base using Tape Runner.
I finished off the card by spraying it with a Shimmer Spray.
For this second card I began by sponging the background using a Sponge Dauber and Balmy Blue Ink at the top and Daffodil Delight Ink at the bottom of a Whisper White Cardstock standard size top mat.
Then I heat embossed the dandelions using an Embossing Buddy, Versamark Ink, Black Embossing and a Heat Tool.
The sentiment was cut using a die from the Celebrate You Thinlits and glued to the top mat using Tombow Glue.
The top mat was applied to a standard size bottom mat of Basic Black Cardstock, and then both pieces to a White Card Base using Tape Runner.
I also finished off this card by spraying it with a Shimmer Spray.
This third card was CASEd from something I saw on Pinterest by Shirley G. I used Sponge Daubers on a standard top mat of Whisper White Cardstock, using Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Always Artichoke Inks.
The dandelions and sentiments were then stamped with Memento Ink. The birthday sentiment is from the Humming Along Stamp Set.
The top mat was applied to a standard bottom mat of Always Artichoke Cardstock and then both pieces to a White Card Base using Tape Runner.
Again I sprayed the card front with Shimmer Spray.
For this 4th card I applied Highland Heather, Dapper Denim. and Old Olive Inks with a Sponge Dauber to create a blended background on a standard size top mat piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
Then I made a template from a piece of Window Sheet to use this Bokeh Dot technique. My template has random sized circles punched out of it. I applied Whisper White Craft Ink in a random pattern with random sized circles across the front of the card. I have CASEd this process based on one I saw on Pinterest by Lily Pad Stamper.
I stamped the dandelions and the "wishes" sentiment from Butterfly Basics Stamp Set in Memento ink as shown. I love this effect but in the future I might try to heat emboss using Black Embossing Powder instead, as the black ink sort of absorbed into the Whisper White Ink and looks somewhat faded.
I mounted the top mat onto a standard size piece of Dapper Denim Cardstock and then both pieces onto a White Card Base using Tape Runner. And as with all of the above cards I sprayed the card front with Shimmer Spray
For this 5th card I sponged a piece of Whisper White CS with Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight inks, and then cut it out with one of the Circle dies from the Stitched Label Framelits.
I cut another circle from the center of a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4 piece of Pear Pizzazz CS using the same die and attached the 2 pieces together using Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back side.
Then I stamped the Dandelions and the sentiment from Butterfly Basics in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
I matted the stamped piece onto a bottom mat of Balmy Blue CS and then both pieces to a White Card Base.
This card was Cased from one I saw on Pinterest by Linda Callahan.
